The Philippines - our second home

The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines, is a state and archipelago of 7,641 islands in the western Pacific Ocean and is part of Southeast Asia. It is the fifth largest island state in the world. Alongside East Timor (Timor-Leste), the Philippines are the only Asian country with a Catholic majority. They got their name from the explorer Ruy López de Villalobos, who called the islands Las Islas Filipinas in honor of the Spanish Infante Philipp. Motto: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa ("For God, the people, nature and the land"). The Philippines consists of a total of 7641 islands, of which 3144 are named and about 880 are inhabited. Of the islands, 13 islands have an area of more than 1000 km², 47 islands have an area of more than 100 km² and 357 islands are larger than 2.5 km².

"Beach Wedding" - Boracay 2019

After getting married in Hong Kong in 2017 and completing all the formalities (apostille for the marriage certificate, Philippines Report of Marriage, registration at the registry office in Munich, etc.), we wanted to celebrate a big wedding with friends on Boracay in 2018. Unfortunately, the authorities decided to close Boracay for 6 months in 2018 to enforce environmental rules, so we couldn't celebrate our beach wedding until May 2019.
