Siquijor is an island and the third-smallest province in the Philippines—as well as the smallest of the island provinces in the Visayas (following Camiguin and Batanes)—in terms of both land area and population. The Spaniards named it Isla del Fuego (Island of Fire). Politically, it belongs to the Central Visayas region (Region VII). The seat of the provincial government is in the municipality of Siquijor, which shares the island's name.
Siquijor often called the "Mystical Island", it is famous for its traditional healing practices, beautiful waterfalls, white-sand beaches, coral reefs, and relaxed atmosphere. Compared to nearby islands like Cebu and Bohol, Siquijor is much less crowded, making it an excellent destination for nature lovers, divers, and travelers looking for a slower pace.
